S. David Wakulchik, MD

Allopathic Program Director

"We are very excited that you have chosen to take a closer look at our cohesive program. We have faculty dedicated to Family Medicine teaching, residents who provide team oriented care and an outstanding outpatient clinical experience for our residents. We would be honored to share our experiences with you through a visit, rotation or interview and hope that you will take a serious look at your educational opportunities at Aultman Family Medicine Residency program. Feel free to contact either myself or Amy Hupp, our Residency Administrator. We hope to hear from you soon."

Patricia Matto, DO

Osteopathic Program Director

"As the Osteopathic Program Director, I am fortunate to be able to participate in both training programs. I enjoy sharing the osteopathic philosophy throughout the entire program. As a graduate of the program, my fellow colleagues and former mentors create a positive working environment that fosters lifelong learning."

Keith Werstler, MD

Associate Program Director

"I have been a part of the Aultman Family Medicine Residency Program for many years, first as a resident and now as Associate Program Director. It remains a privilege and pleasure to be involved with this excellent program and such caring people. I consider myself fortunate to help shape the next generation of family physicians."

Robert Brophy, MD

Assistant Program Director

"My position as Assistant Director at Aultman Family Medicine Residency provides me with a wonderful balance of supervising resident physicians, teaching medical students, and caring for patients. The positive working relationships with fellow faculty, residents, and staff at the residency make Aultman an enjoyable place to work."

Theresa Galayda, MD

Assistant Program Director

"I enjoy the atmosphere of learning and the enthusiasm at the Aultman Family Medicine Residency Program. Faculty, residents, and staff work together as a team to provide excellence in patient care."

Roger Musa, MD

Assistant Program Director

"The Aultman Family Medicine Program provides an excellent opportunity for both personal and professional growth. The support of the faculty and staff ensures that each resident has adequate supervision while maintaining the right amount of independence and autonomy. This is precisely why I decided to join the faculty after I completed my residency here at Aultman Hospital."

Katie Sheridan, MD

Assistant Program Director

"I chose to join the faculty at Aultman after graduating from the Family Medicine Residency Program because of the supportive relationships between faculty, staff, and residents.  I also found great satisfaction with the ability to pursue my many interests all in one place--teaching, delivering babies, working with underserved populations, and applying my Spanish language skills to patient care."

P. Leigh Withnell, MD

Assistant Program Director

"I love the variety of patients seen in Family Medicine, including low risk prenatal/obstetric, pediatric, adult, and geriatric. I provide care and supervision at the Autman Family Medicine Center, McKinley Life Center (an Extended Care Facility), and Carroll County Health Department. I enjoy watching students and residents grow in knowledge, skills, and confidence."

Teresa Wurst, MD

Assistant Program Director

"I love teaching at this residency because it allows faculty members to pursue their own areas of interest in teaching.  We all have diverse interests which gives residents and medical students a rich learning environment.  I am the medical director of the Hartville Migrant Clinic which is a free clinic for mostly Hispanic migrant farm workers. Here, students and residents can learn valuable skills in caring for this vulnerable population."

Daniel Merz, PhD

Director of Behavioral Science

“I find it very gratifying to be in a position where I can have some influence on how resident physicians communicate with and manage their patients.  I consider it a privilege to be a part of an educational process that forms and shapes the professional identify of future family physicians.”

Amy Hupp

Program Administrator

"Aultman Hospital's support of the residency programs, physicians, employees, and community makes it a great place to work. I especially enjoy interacting with the residents and watching them grow throughout their training here."
